Family Histories: Personal histories of Niles Center/Skokie pioneer families have been collected over the years or found in out of date books. These biographies are available online.
Please check A. T. Andreas' "History of Cook County, Illinois" for biographical information on Peter Blameuser, John W. Brown, Rev. Frederick Detzer, Henry Harms, Albert J. Harms, Henry Harrer, Michael Harrer, Theodore Hoffman, M.D., George C. Klehm, Samuel Meyer, Ivan Paroubek, Gustave Schraeder, and Fredrick Stielow Family Trees: Select Niles Center/Skokie pioneer family genealogy records are available for review at the Skokie Heritage Museum during hours of operation. Most of these records have not been updated since 2000 while some family records have earlier updates or no date of origin at all. These records have not been formatted for the internet but more current family information may be available through other online sources. Check the Skokie Public Library’s extensive genealogy resources. This is a partial list of the family trees that have been donated to the Historical Society.
